The first charter class will consist of twenty individuals, plus one team. The public will elect fourteen of the charter members, and the Advisory Committee will elect six individuals and the team. After the first charter class has been elected and enshrined, each year ten individuals and one team will be elected. The public will elect seven enshrinees and the Advisory Committee will elect three enshrinees and the team. The President of the Wichita Sports Hall of Fame can select one Wichita sports organization for enshrinement if he or she so chooses.

The Advisory Committee is responsible for ensuring all Wichita sports figures from the turn of the century to the 1960s and all sports figures who were behind the scenes, in ownership, management, coaching, or another facet of sports, have a means to be elected to the Wichita Sports Hall of Fame. Also, the Advisory Committee is responsible for all voting and nominations being done in a fair and respectable manner. The President of the Wichita Sports Hall of Fame shall be responsible for breaking any ties in the nomination or voting process.

Those receiving the most votes will be enshrined in the Wichita Sports Hall of Fame.

Inductees will be announced in May of each year, with induction ceremonies held after the election is complete, in the summer of each year.
